Susan Albers, Installation Art
"Dances With Branches" is a two year exploration into the expressive relationships of found branches, recycled paint and the landscape. Susan has assembled 24 vignettes in the residential landscape that relate shape, color, and form into sculptural elements that compliment or contrast the surrounding environment. Using recycled house paint (latex), several of the compositions bring monochromatic tree forms painted in various greens to a static background of shredded cedar. Multi-colored trees adorn an otherwise mundane corner in a bright spectrum of natural forms. Collections of similar colored saplings are arranged in bundles on structural reenforcing wire on an otherwise blank wall to create a repetitious pattern. The ongoing examination of natural found forms will continue as Susan continues to examine the relationships formed by vegetation in the urban corridor
